Groundworks, driveways, patios and drainage for Falmouth, Penryn, Mabe and Mylor. Falmouth is built down a hillside, so most jobs here begin with levels, retaining and a way in for the machine. Because we do the groundwork ourselves, the surface you end up looking at is laid on ground we prepared.
Falmouth is a harbour town built down a hillside, and the ground decides the job long before the finish does. Plots step down towards the water, gardens are terraced, and on many of them the only way in is through the house or along a side passage no machine will pass. That is why work here starts with levels, retaining and where the water goes, and only then reaches the surface everybody looks at.
Falmouth sits about twenty miles east of us, out through Helston on the A394 and into Penryn, so it is ordinary working ground rather than a trip we make room for. Penryn's older plots run long and narrow behind the frontage, with the kerb tight at the front and the back reached on foot. Mabe is granite country, where a dig can come up hard and shallow. Around Mylor and Flushing the ground falls away to the creeks and carries surface water with it.
The town also holds a great deal of rented and let property, from student lettings to holiday lets, so work here is often planned around when the place is free.
