HW Contractors began the way the best trade partnerships do: two people who kept crossing paths on good work, and eventually stopped working around each other and started working together.
Aaron Hunt has ten years in the trade, the last two of them building Hunt Landscaping & Groundworks into a name people passed along. His side of the business is drive: modern methods, a high standard set early and kept, and an appetite for the bigger, more ambitious projects.
Mike Wherry has been on the tools for thirty years. His firm, M Wherry Drives & Patios, became the name in Helston, to the point where for around the last five years almost all of his work was in and around the town. That does not happen by accident. It happens when every finished job quietly sells the next one.
In their own words, the firm is a combination of new-school drive and old-school knowledge. They bring different skills that complement each other, and both of them are on the tools, not behind a desk.
Together that is 40 years of combined experience, one company, and a straightforward ambition: take on the larger groundworks and driveway projects across West Cornwall and finish them to a standard worth photographing.
The work they are proudest of says a lot about them. Ask either owner and the answer is the same: resin driveways and porcelain patios, because of the transformation. The moment a customer sees the finished job and reacts, that is what the graft is for.
